Once upon a time…
Our center has added a magical touch to the teaching of English with the "Storytelling" project in the first cycle of Primary. Each week, students immerse themselves in the fascinating experience of learning English through storytelling.
What better way to learn a language, its vocabulary and expressions, than through stories that promote playful and participatory learning. They improve their oral comprehension, their creativity and of course they acquire a very varied vocabulary. Oral expression is another of the fundamental axes of this project since many activities are aimed at acquiring everyday expressions that they can use in real situations. Active listening is essential, developing their capacity for participation, respect for speaking time, etc.
The story worked on is always reinforced through songs or games and we end up doing a small craft or project that makes it easier for the students to tell the story they worked on at home.
What makes this project even more special is the active participation of parents as storytellers. Starting this second trimester, families are also immersing themselves in the magical world of stories where fathers and mothers become storytellers for a day.
Storytelling is not just fun, it is a comprehensive educational experience that strengthens linguistic and creative skills.

Nuestro centro ha sumado un toque mágico a la enseñanza del inglés con el proyecto "Storytelling" en el primer ciclo de Primaria. Los alumnos y alumnas se sumergen cada semana en la fascinante experiencia de aprender inglés a través de la narración de cuentos. Qué mejor manera de aprender una lengua, su vocabulario y expresiones, que a través de historias que promueven un aprendizaje lúdico y participativo. Mejoran su comprensión oral, su creatividad y por supuesto adquieren vocabulario muy variado. La expresión oral es otro de los ejes fundamentales de este proyecto ya que muchas actividades están orientadas a adquirir expresiones cotidianas que puedan utilizar en entornos reales. La escucha activa es imprescindible, desarrollando su capacidad de participación, respeto del turno de palabra, etc.
La historia trabajada se refuerza siempre mediante canciones o juegos y terminamos realizando una pequeña manualidad o proyecto que facilita que los alumnos y alumnas cuenten la historia trabajada en casa.
Lo que hace aún más especial este proyecto es la participación activa de los padres y madres como cuentacuentos. A partir de este segundo trimestre las familias se están sumergiendo también en el mágico mundo de los cuentos dónde los padres y madres se convierten en cuentacuentos por un día.
Storytelling no es solo diversión, es una experiencia educativa integral que fortalece habilidades lingüísticas y creativas.
