Storytelling
Once upon a time…
Our center has added a magical touch to the teaching of English with the "Storytelling" project in the first cycle of Primary. Each week, students immerse themselves in the fascinating experience of learning English through storytelling. What better way to learn a language,
its vocabulary and expressions, than through stories that promote playful and participatory learning. They improve their oral comprehension, their creativity and of course they acquire a very varied vocabulary. Oral expression is another of the fundamental axes of this project since many activities are aimed at acquiring everyday expressions that they can use in real situations. Active listening is essential, developing their capacity for participation, respect for speaking time, etc.
The story worked on is always reinforced through songs or games and we end up doing a small craft or project that makes it easier for the students to tell the story they worked on at home.
What makes this project even more special is the active participation of parents as storytellers. Starting this second trimester, families are also immersing themselves in the magical world of stories where fathers and mothers become storytellers for a day.
Storytelling is not just fun, it is a comprehensive educational experience that strengthens linguistic and creative skills.
Bazen behin...
Gure ikastetxeak toke magikoa gehitu dio ingelesaren irakaskuntzari "Storytelling" proiektuarekin Lehen Hezkuntzako lehen zikloan. Astero, ipuinen narrazioaren bidez ingelesa ikasteko esperientzia liluragarrian murgiltzen dira ikasleak. Zer hobeto hizkuntza bat, bere hiztegia eta esamoldeak ikasteko, ikaskuntza ludiko eta parte-hartzailea sustatzen duten istorioen bidez baino? Beren ahozko ulermena eta sormena hobetzen dute eta, jakina, askotariko hiztegia eskuratzen dute. Ahozko adierazpena da proiektu honen funtsezko beste ardatzetako bat, jarduera asko ingurune errealetan erabil ditzaketen eguneroko adierazpenak eskuratzera bideratuta baitaude. Entzute aktiboa ezinbestekoa da, parte hartzeko gaitasuna garatuz, hitz egiteko txanda errespetatuz, etab.
Landutako istorioa abesti edo jolasen bidez indartzen da beti, eta, amaitzeko, eskulan edo proiektu txiki bat egiten dugu, ikasleek etxean landutako istorioa konta dezaten.
Proiektu honek are bereziago egiten du gurasoek ipuin-kontalari gisa aktiboki parte hartzea. Bigarren hiruhileko honetatik aurrera, familiak ipuinen mundu magikoan murgiltzen ari dira, non gurasoak egun batez ipuin kontalari bihurtzen diren.
Storytelling ez da dibertimendua bakarrik, hizkuntza- eta sormen-trebetasunak indartzen dituen hezkuntza-esperientzia integrala baita.
